Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the state inspector of one of the customs posts of the Lviv Customs Office was notified of the suspicion. He is accused of organizing the illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine, aiding in the forgery of an official document and its use, with a prior conspiracy by a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 332, Part 5 of Article 27 – Part 1 of Article 358, Part 2 Article 28, Part 4 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the customs officer organized a scheme for himself and other men of military age to cross the border illegally during martial law.
For this, he used a forged application from one of the RTCC and SP, on the basis of which relevant information was subsequently entered into the “Shlyah” system, which gave them the right to leave the code without hindrance.
They left as “volunteer drivers”, ostensibly in order to bring humanitarian or medical cargo for the Armed Forces.
However, each time they returned to the territory of Ukraine without any humanitarian aid.
It is documented that in this way the suspect, together with other men, has repeatedly traveled abroad for private interests since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
Investigations are ongoing, all involved persons are being identified.
At the prosecutor’s request, the defendant was remanded in custody and suspended from his post.
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the investigators of the territorial administration of the State Bureau of Investigation, based on the materials of the SBU Office in the Lviv region. The investigation was carried out with the assistance of the Department of Departmental Security and Control of the DMSU.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
