The court found a citizen of Ukraine guilty of a public accusation by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office. He was convicted of treason, participation in a terrorist organization and activities of armed groups not provided for by law (parts 1, 2 of article 111, part 1 of article 258-3, part 2 of article 260 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The prosecutors proved in court that the resident of Luhansk region voluntarily switched to the side of the enemy and joined the illegal armed formation “People’s Militia” of the terrorist organization “LNR” from the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
The man received a military uniform, weapons and was enrolled in the personnel of the 208th Rifle (Cossack) Regiment as a rifleman.
The accused was responsible for arranging and strengthening firing positions and trenches of the army of the Russian Armed Forces for the conduct of battle, and was engaged in the construction of dugouts. He also carried out guard duty for the protection of the territory.
Its activity was suspended in July 2023, due to its capture in the Bakhmut district.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigators of the SBU Office in the Lviv region.
