The court upheld the claim of the head of the Pustomyty District Prosecutor’s Office for compensation for damage caused by illegal logging. According to the decision, the local budget will be charged about UAH 650 thousand from the permanent forest user.
Prosecutors found that unidentified persons had illegally cut down trees in the forest on the territory of the Horodok territorial community.
This violation occurred as a result of improper performance of its duties to ensure the protection and preservation of the forest from illegal logging in subordinate areas by a permanent forest user – one of the regional branches of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia. As a result, 54 trees were illegally cut down.
The court fully agreed with the prosecutors’ arguments and fully satisfied the claims.
