Law enforcement officers once again call on drivers and pedestrians to carefully comply with the requirements of the Traffic Rules. Take care of life and health – yours and other road users!
So, on September 5, around 9:50 a.m., the driver of a Yamaha TDM 850 motorcycle, a 29-year-old resident of Boryspil, hit a 15-year-old local resident on the highway “Kyiv-Chop” in the village of Kozyova, Stryi district. As a result of the accident, the minor was injured and hospitalized.
According to the fact, investigators of police department No. 3 of the Stryi district police department opened criminal proceedings under part 1 of article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.
Another traffic accident occurred around 09:00 on Chervonaya Kalyna Avenue in Lviv. As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Subaru Legacy car, a 31-year-old man from Lviv, hit a 71-year-old local resident. As a result of the accident, the elderly man received bodily injuries and was hospitalized in the intensive care unit.
According to the fact, investigators of police department #2 of Lviv district police department #2 opened criminal proceedings under part 2 of article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
