In the Sheptytskyi district of Lviv region, a road incident occurred that ended with the arrest of a drunk driver. The accident happened on February 9, around 16:35, on the road from Sheptytskyi to Rava-Ruska, near the village of Mykhailivka. As a result of the incident, the driver of a Daewoo Lanos lost control, went off the road, and overturned.
A 34-year-old driver from the Sheptytskyi district and his 48-year-old passenger sustained injuries and were urgently hospitalized. The police confirmed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and he is now detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The investigative department of police №2 of the Sheptytskyi district has opened a criminal case. For violating traffic rules by driving while intoxicated, the driver faces imprisonment for up to three years and a ban on driving vehicles for a term of three to five years.
