Organised group to be tried for selling methadone, buprenorphine and cannabis in Drohobych colony
Under the supervision of prosecutors of the Lviv Regional and Drohobych District Prosecutor’s Offices, the pre-trial investigation was completed and an indictment was submitted to the court against three members of the organised group. They are charged with the illegal acquisition, transportation, storage and sale of narcotic drugs (Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that in Drohobych, the defendants organised a trafficking route for the supply and sale of methadone, buprenorphine and cannabis among drug addicts in a prison.
To do this, two members of the organised group who were at large supplied the “goods” to the organiser, who was serving his sentence in prison. They delivered the drugs by throwing them across the guarded perimeter of the colony and disguising them in food parcels.
As a result of the searches, prohibited substances were found and seized from the convict.
The men who delivered the drugs to the prison are currently in custody.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region, operational support was provided by the DCO of the National Police in Lviv region and the Drohobych District Police Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region.
