the hotel business of the Lviv region is urged to switch to a digital version of work during guest registration

It is about using the Diya application when checking in guests and checking their documents.

In Lviv OVA, a working meeting was held with representatives of the hotel business of the Lviv region regarding the implementation of the “Diya” application in their establishments. Working with digital documents during hotel check-in aims to speed up guest check-in.

As of now, Lviv Oblast has officially sheltered more than 250,000 forced migrants. In total, the number of people living in the region is about 400,000. All of them are housed in institutions such as social infrastructure, dormitories, the private sector, as well as in hotels and sanatoriums of the Lviv region, etc.

“Many Ukrainians lost their documents or left them at home when the war caught them by surprise. This has further influenced the fact that we use Diya in everyday life, because digital documents are equated with paper ones. Therefore, hotels in the region should also take a step towards the people and integrate with Diya in order to speed up the settlement of their customers,” said the deputy head of Lviv OVA, Oleksandr Kulepin.

Ukraine is the first country in the world where you can use digital passports without paper or plastic counterparts. Already today, many hotels in Ukraine have implemented the possibility for customers to share a digital copy of documents simply from a smartphone. It should be noted that already more than 20 hotels of Lviv region implement the possibility of transferring copies of digital documents using the “Diya” application during check-in.

Two methods of integration with “Dia” were presented to the participants of the meeting. The first is validation, which helps to verify the validity of the document and identify the person, as well as to find out whether the document is genuine. The second is sharing. To do this, the hotel, with the consent of the user, scans the code to check his document, and then receives it in the form of metadata and a pdf file. Sharing is available both online (“Action” in the phone or website) and offline – at the hotel.

Another scenario for obtaining copies of digital documents is Diya.QR. The service can be obtained by generating a QR on the Diya portal, so that customers can access a copy of their digital documents in a few simple steps.

At the end of the meeting, hoteliers of the Lviv region were urged to test the operation of the digital tool “Diya” during check-in or booking.
