The Medical Academy is one of the oldest higher medical educational institutions not only in Ukraine, but also in Europe.
Today, October 4, in the National Drama Theater named after Maria Zankovetska, a solemn academy was held on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the Lviv Medical Academy named after Andrey Krupinsky.
The event was attended by representatives of the authorities, heads of regional communal institutions, teachers, students, as well as former graduates of the academy.
“Medicine is a dynamic field, where not only existing knowledge plays an important role, but also the implementation of modern approaches in the treatment of those who need it. Our nation is a locomotive of changes in all fields, so our doctors are respected far beyond the borders of Ukraine. Graduates of this institution save lives, provide important medical services and work for our common victory. I thank the teachers for this, who give students a love of knowledge and help them master the study materials. Let this anniversary become the next page in the future history of this powerful European institution,” said Ivan Sobko, deputy head of Lviv OVA, in his congratulatory speech.
Later, he awarded individual teachers with certificates of honor from the regional administration for significant labor achievements, many years of conscientious work, and on the occasion of the anniversary of the establishment of the institution.
Rector of the academy, Yuriy Kryvko, said that more than a thousand students study at the institution.
“Our institution is one of the oldest higher educational institutions in Ukraine and today it celebrates its next anniversary. For a quarter of a millennium, our academy was able to create authentic traditions, confirm them and pass them on to future generations. We have more than 1,200 students studying various specialties. Almost two hundred teachers who are professionals in their fields impart knowledge to students. Over the past five years, we have introduced new specialties into our educational process, as well as received the right to teach foreign students. Our graduates show a high professional level not only in Ukraine, but also abroad,” Yuriy Kryvko summarized.

Lviv Medical Academy named after Andrey Krupinsky is one of the oldest higher medical educational institutions of Ukraine. Founded in 1773 as the Lviv Midwifery College, it became the best paramedic-midwifery school in the region. During its existence, the educational institution has produced thousands of highly qualified medical specialists.
