In January-August 2022, the regional employment service helped 10,500 people find work, including 8,700 unemployed.
– At the beginning of September, with the assistance of the employment service, as many unemployed people were looking for work as we employed in eight months of the current year. For comparison, at this time last year, there were twice as many unemployed people – 17,900, – said director of the Lviv Regional Employment Center Vasyl Barilyuk.
According to him, this situation is due to the fact that changes have been made to the current legislation. According to them, during the war, after being unemployed for more than 30 days, any job offer is considered a suitable place of work for a person.
And there is work in the region: according to information from employers, as of September 1, 2022, 4,100 jobs remained vacant (as of September 1, 2021, there were 5,800). The top 5 professions with the largest number of job options included seamstresses, locksmiths of various profiles, motor vehicle drivers, electricians, and operators of automatic and semi-automatic lines and machines.
The average salary for the announced vacancies was UAH 9.3 thousand (last year – UAH 8.1 thousand). Firms and companies offer a high salary of more than UAH 24 thousand to drivers of motor vehicles (international transportation), crane operators, tractor drivers of agricultural (forestry) production, agronomists, mechanical roller drivers, programmer engineers, design engineers, managers (managers) in road transport, etc.
