
Following the intervention of Lviv prosecutors, over 10 million UAH in taxes have been returned to the state budget. This was made possible through the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office in criminal proceedings concerning tax evasion.
According to part 2 of article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, a motion has been submitted to the court to release the defendants from criminal liability due to full compensation for the damages caused. Violations of tax legislation were discovered in companies specialising in the sale of pharmaceutical goods.
During an inventory in February this year, a shortage of goods worth nearly 50.5 million UAH was discovered in warehouses. Responsible individuals concealed this fact in reporting, leading to the non-payment of over 10 million UAH in tax. The damages to the state have now been fully compensated.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Bureau of Economic Security in the Lviv region. According to article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent until proven guilty in a lawful manner.
