Lviv is one step away from receiving the status of the European Volunteer Capital of 2024. This became known today during the closing ceremony of the European Volunteer Capital of 2022 (Gdansk), during which the city that became the capital in 2024 was named.
Lviv competed for this title with the Italian city of Trento until the end, but in the final the jury still gave preference to the opponent. Despite the loss, participation in the competition was useful for Lviv, because it enables integration into various European volunteer communities, in particular the Center for European Volunteering, the organizer of the “European Volunteer Capital” competition, and to start cooperation in this direction with other European cities. countries
Let’s add that Lviv became the first Ukrainian city to reach the finals of this competition. In order to get to the finals, the active youth of the city together with the network of youth spaces CREATE! prepared an extended application, passed an extended questionnaire, filmed a video business card and presented the volunteer movement of Lviv at a pitch.
