Lviv is preparing for winter. Considering the fact that our country is living in a time of war, the scenarios of the heating season may be different. As the Lviv City Hall emphasizes, everyone has to prepare for winter at their own level. As a result, the city headquarters for winter preparation was created, which developed recommendations and an action plan for the city, enterprises, balance-keepers of buildings and separately for residents.
“We held numerous meetings with managers of management companies, heads of condominiums. There is an understanding of the situation that can be. We all have to actively prepare for the winter period.
Therefore, whether there will be electricity and gas or not, residents at home should have the following things:
electric kettle If there is no gas, you can use it to make tea, coffee and warm up.
electric stove If there is no gas, then you can cook food on it.
lamp on batteries. If there is no electricity, it will light up the room.
dry alcohol With its help, you can heat and cook food if there is no gas or electricity.
It is necessary to insulate the windows and doors with a sealant, install a heat-reflecting screen on the wall behind the battery, because every degree of heat will matter,” says Iryna Marunyak, deputy mayor of Lviv for housing and communal services.
The City Hall emphasizes that if there are stoves and fireplaces in the apartments, it is necessary to check their condition, in particular, whether there is a draft. If there is no gas, they will be able to heat the house with firewood.
In particular, the inspection of stoves in the Lviv City Council is currently underway. As Natalya Alekseeva, managing the affairs of the executive committee of the LMR, said, these stoves have not been used since independence. However, given the threats we have now regarding winter, it is necessary to use all tools and means to ensure heat in the premises.
“For the past thirty years, the stoves in the offices of the City Hall performed a decorative function, as a historical heritage. But, considering these threats that exist, we understand that they should be ready for work. Therefore, we are now conducting an inspection of stoves in the city council. It turned out that a significant part of them has normal traction and it is possible to restore their functioning,” Natalya Alekseeva said.
Residents are advised to call a specialized organization to inspect their stoves, which will do it professionally.
We would like to remind you that in order to prepare for the heating season, the balance holders of buildings, which are management companies, condominiums, condominiums, etc., are recommended to:
– insulation of buildings, in particular glazing of windows on stairwells, insulation of basements and attics;
– create a stock of materials and products;
– to form mini-emergency teams;
– to form a reserve of salt and sand;
– by the beginning of winter, bring all the engineering networks in the houses into proper condition;
– bring the shelter into proper condition;
– create schedules for alternating use of electricity for all apartments in the building (to be used as needed);
– to prepare firewood.
