In the Lviv region, they plan to expand the network of family-type children’s homes

This was discussed at the meeting of the management of Lviv OVA with benefactors of the “New Horizons” foundation.

Today, May 26, Sherry McClurg, co-head of the New Horizons for Children of Ukraine charitable foundation, met with Ivan Sobko, deputy head of the Lviv OVA, to discuss the possibility of implementing such a project.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the main issues regarding cooperation in 2023. It is about the possibility of creating a support center for families with children and children evacuated from the territories where hostilities are taking place. Also, another direction of cooperation is the organization of stakeholder training on the development of family forms of education. Equally important is the fund’s assistance in the process of developing a network of family-type children’s homes in the Lviv region, taking into account the construction of appropriate premises.

“Thank you for the support for children, families, institutions for children, which you have provided to Lviv Oblast since the beginning of the war. Our cooperation brings victory closer. You have a big heart. And we thank you for the great work you have already done. We hope that you will be with us until the final victory and together we will implement more than one project”, – emphasized the deputy head of Lviv OVA Ivan Sobko.

Like last year, the benefactors of the “New Horizons” fund, together with the Lviv OVA, are organizing the “Summer without worries” campaign for children, including IDPs. This action is aimed at distracting children from the horror of war and giving them happy emotions. During the past year, children visited amusement parks, master classes, conquered mountains and much more. This year, the project will start operating again with the support of partners.

“It’s a great honor for us to help Ukraine, we can help work with children and we’re here to help children,” Sherry McClurg added.
