A railway checkpoint connecting Rava-Ruska and Warsaw has opened in Lviv Oblast

Today, the first train, which operates in test mode, was launched.

The first flight was used by Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction Oleksandr Kubrakov and Poland’s Minister of Infrastructure Andrzej Adamchyk.

The railway checkpoint in Rava-Ruska has not served passengers for more than 20 years. As of today, an 8.4 km long section of Eurotrack has been restored there and the railway station at the Rava-Ruska station has been restored.

“It will take a few more months for the Polish side to deploy full-fledged customs border control and resolve important technical issues. We will announce separately when the regular connection “Warsaw – Rava-Ruska” will start. This connection will allow passengers from the Ukrainian and Polish sides to get there conveniently and will relieve traffic checkpoints,” emphasized Maksym Kozytskyi, head of Lviv OVA.

It should be noted that the launch of the project “Eurorail Lviv-Rava-Rusk-Warsaw” will significantly improve transport connections between Ukraine and Europe and relieve the Lviv – Mostyska – Przemyśl route. It is this direction that has become the most popular railway connection between Ukraine and Europe since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine.
