More than two dozen Ukrainian servicemen from various military formations took part in the ascent of Mount Klyuch. Video

Most of them are from the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo.

The video shows incredible stories of our soldiers who, despite amputation, do not lose faith in a bright future.

Volodymyr Malikhin is 31 years old, from Kharkiv. In civilian life, he was a boxing and fitness coach, at one time he graduated from the Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture. He went to war as a volunteer.

After six months of service, when they began to enter Bakhmut and storm the positions, his comrade came across an anti-personnel mine and lost consciousness. Volodymyr was not confused and applied a tourniquet, which saved the man’s life. And then, when he decided to put the first-aid kit under the wounded man’s head, he himself came across a mine. Due to the explosion, Volodymyr was left without a lower limb.

He says that the war was not scary and if it were not for such a high amputation, he would have returned again. He is waiting for a  prosthesis at Superhumans Centrer. He says that if he is not taken into the army again, he wants to train people as before or will try to open his rehabilitation center in Kharkiv, following the example of Superhumans, and help people like him.

“I was lucky that my family immediately came to me and supported me. Everything is fine thanks to them. I’ve been smiling all my life, but I don’t have a leg – now I’ll be more brutal, with a prosthesis. Now it will be like fashion, I will be a semi-robot for my son,” Volodymyr said. The fighter’s wife, Margarita Malikhina, emphasized: “I always told him that the main thing is that he is alive, and you can handle everything else.”

In the report, you can learn about other fates of military personnel, in particular, 20-year-old soldier Andrii Golopapa from Varash, who lost his leg near Horlivka and dreams of celebrating his wedding with his bride after the Victory.

The next ascent was planned to Mount Parashka. Defenders, defenders, and their family members can register using the link.

It should be noted that the event was organized by the team of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Lviv ODA together with Veterans go volunteers within the framework of the concept of supporting defenders of Ukraine, which was developed in the Lviv OVA.
