A 34-year-old rescuer from Drohobych tragically died

Tragic news in the family of rescuers of Lviv region – the sad news was announced today at the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lviv region

On 20 June, at the age of 34, Captain Taras Shpilchak, the head of the guard of the 5th State Fire and Rescue Unit of Drohobych, tragically died.

He devoted more than 17 years of his life to the fire and rescue service of Lviv region. While working as a watch commander, Taras Shpilchak saved many lives, but a tragic accident took him away.

Two small children were left without a father, and his wife became a widow.

We express our sincere, deepest condolences to the family and friends of Taras Vasilyevich on the occasion of his bereavement.

The parastas will be held on 21 June 2024 at 19:00 at 1 Volodymyr Velykyi Street, Drohobych (in the chapel of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary).

The funeral will take place on 22 June at 13:00. Drohobych, Volodymyr the Great Street (chapel near the Park shopping centre).

The date and time of the burial will be determined later.
