Yesterday, March 30, at the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies of the Lviv Polytechnic National University, an Educational Academy was held to discuss best practices in the implementation of the regional project “MOODLE is pro100!”.
The organizers of the project “MOODLE is about 100!” there is the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv OVA and the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies of the Lviv Polytechnic.
The project started back in February 2021 and made it possible to provide schoolchildren with the opportunity to study remotely or in a mixed format under quarantine conditions, and later during martial law.
“We gathered here to share our experience and develop algorithms for our actions in the future. The most difficult thing we have already overcome is the fear of starting. The problem was that it was difficult for us to leave our comfort zone, but we managed to create a project that shows results through joint efforts!”, said Margarita Noskova, director of the Institute of International Trade and Industry and the author of the project.
The directors of educational institutions of Lviv Region spoke about the implementation of MOODLE during the Educational Academy. Many teachers who graduated from the course “MOODLE is about 100!” help our children gain access to Ukrainian education at the Ukrainian Distance School.
“In the context of the development of distance education, Lviv Oblast is currently a unique phenomenon in Ukraine! Our educators studied for 2 years, and now we have a quality result. Thanks to this course, children had the opportunity to learn from the first days of the war, we created the Ukrainian distance school, and in the educational institutions of the region, children were able to master educational material with high quality,” said Oleg Paska, director of the Department of Education and Science of LOVA.
Thanks to the course “MOODLE is pro100!” 2,674 teachers, including 172 heads of educational institutions, 228 system administrators, and 1,419 teachers, received training in professional development courses for teaching staff on work organization and creation of distance courses on the MOODLE platform. In total, LMS MOODLE was deployed in 196 educational institutions of Lviv Region.
Thanks to this, teachers can use a convenient platform to keep all educational materials structured, accessible and relevant. The teachers themselves note that the course “MOODLE is about 100!” taught how to organize high-quality distance learning, keep in constant contact with students and gave the skills necessary for teachers in today’s difficult circumstances.
