Voucher training is provided in 124 professions and specialities used in various sectors of the economy.
In 2023, specialists of the Lviv Regional Employment Service issued 1306 vouchers for training, including 1128 people aged 45+, 110 internally displaced persons, 54 people with disabilities, and 14 combatants.
This was announced by Vasyl Baryliuk, director of the Lviv Regional Education Centre.
According to him, such a document for retraining in a working profession, training in a speciality to obtain a master’s degree on the basis of a bachelor’s or master’s degree obtained in another speciality, training at the next level of education, specialisation and advanced training in professions and specialities is issued to persons over 45 years of age, provided they have more than 15 years of experience.
No age or length of service requirements apply to people discharged from military service after participating in the ATO, people with disabilities, internally displaced persons, demobilised defenders of Ukraine, citizens whose deprivation of liberty as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine has been established, as well as those who were injured, contused, maimed or ill as a result of military aggression while in the combat zone.
“Voucher training is organised in 124 professions and specialities used in various sectors of the economy: construction, transport, education, medicine, social insurance, agriculture, information technology, etc. A person has the right to choose the field of study, form of training and educational institution,” said Vasyl Baryliuk.
The top specialities for which vouchers were issued last year in the Lviv region were psychology (437), secondary education, including for teachers of Ukrainian language and literature, mathematics, physics, chemistry (117), social work (87), preschool education (81), and nursing (75).
In terms of working professions, most vouchers were issued to those who wanted to study to become a forklift driver (54), cook (52), woodworking machine operator (46), motor vehicle driver (37), boiler operator (33), agricultural tractor driver (25), seamstress (22), etc.
A voucher is a standardised document that entitles a person to receive training free of charge. Its value may not exceed 10 times the subsistence minimum for able-bodied persons (from 01.01.2024 – UAH 30280). Those wishing to receive a voucher must have a vocational, professional pre-university or higher education and not be registered as unemployed with the Employment Service.
