This weekend, Lviv will be 767 years old. On this occasion, several events are planned in the city, the main emphasis of which is to thank the defenders for choosing the freedom of our country and city.
On the occasion of the holiday, on Saturday and Sunday, Lviv trams and trolleybuses will depart on routes decorated with national flags and flags with the coat of arms of the city of Lviv.
Saturday, May 6
At 1:00 p.m., a solemn ceremony of raising the flag of the city of Lviv will take place on Rynok Square. First, the city trumpeter will perform the “Melody of the City”, and then the military serviceman, who is undergoing treatment at the NEZLAMNI rehabilitation center, will raise the flag of Lviv. The military, representatives of the clergy, honorary citizens of Lviv were invited to the event. In addition, a new tradition will be started on this day, the details of which have not yet been disclosed, so that it will be a surprise for Lviv residents and guests of the city.
Later that day, a joint prayer will be held at the Lychakiv cemetery with the participation of the families of the fallen Heroes. The prayer will begin at 5:00 p.m. in Field of Honorable Burials #86-А and continue in Fields #67 and #76.
Sunday, May 7
The charitable exhibition-fair “Lviv – the city of cities” will be held in Stryi Park. On the occasion of City Day, Lviv, as a “city of cities”, will gather Ukrainians from Donetsk region, Luhansk region, Kherson region, Kharkiv region, Sumy region, Kyiv region, Zaporizhzhia and Crimea, who currently live and work in Lviv. The guests of the event will learn about cultural features from the frontline and occupied regions and will join in fundraising for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
From 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., lectures, master classes, musical performances, meals will be prepared, and craft products, coffee, and baked goods will be available for purchase from relocated entrepreneurs.
The headliner of the event is Viktor Pavlik.

Several charity events are also planned for Sunday in the city’s cultural institutions:
In particular, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the square near the “Multiplex” media library (10 V. Simonenka St.), the Lviv Municipal Library together with the NGO “Equal Opportunities for All” and the House of Children’s and Youth Creativity of the Lychakiv District invite you to a charity library fair with master classes for children and adults, photo exhibition “Unbreakable”, poetry excursion and author’s readings “Invention of the City”, flash mob “767 applause”, etc.
From 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Lviv Cinema Center invites you to a charity event organized together with the Lviv Art School No. 10, the community centers of Bryukhovychy and Vynnyk. On the square in front of the Lviv Cinema Center (14a-18 V. Velikoho str.) there will be a fair, numerous master classes, as well as performances by dance and vocal groups.
In addition, on May 7, institutions of general secondary and extra-curricular education are invited to festive festivals for City Day in each district. Fairs with goodies, various games and master classes, as well as children’s performances await guests at the location. Fairs will be held at:
