Last year, the city budget of Lviv received UAH 50.2 million from the payment of fines for violations of parking/stopping rules. Oleg Zabarilo, director of the department of urban mobility and street infrastructure of the LMR, told about this.
As the city security department added, 3,577 cars were evacuated to the impound lot last year due to violations of parking rules.
“This year, Lviv plans to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 500 million hryvnias. This is help in the form of equipment, machines, and clothing to our four brigades that are on the front line today. But there is a question about filling this budget. One of the sources of its filling is the money that the city collects for parking fines.
I understand people, because it is not always pleasant to pay fines. But you must understand that every fine you pay has a final beneficiary – our military.
Therefore, please do not violate traffic rules. But if you violated it, then pay this fine with dignity, because in this way our army will become more effective,” said Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy.
We remind you that the minimum fine is UAH 340. But, depending on the specifics of the offense, it can increase to UAH 680. If the offending driver does not pay the fine within 10 days, the amount is doubled.
And in order to return the evacuated car, the owner must pay UAH 2,234 for the services of a tow truck, another UAH 140 for one day of car storage at the site.
The Lviv City Council strongly urges drivers not to park their cars in violation of traffic rules, in particular, under the signs “stopping is prohibited”, “parking is prohibited”, at intersections. Chaotic parking complicates road traffic, as well as, in the conditions of martial law, the passage of special vehicles, which ensure the life of the city and help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
