The project will be implemented by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Space of Opportunities.

This direction is one of the highest priorities for the Government, as it is not only about social protection, but also about strengthening the country’s defense capabilities. Effective satisfaction of the social needs of the mobilized and their family members will contribute to the improvement of the prestige of the military profession and, as a result, to the strengthening of the recruiting direction.
These and other issues of social reintegration of servicemen, veterans and their family members were discussed the day before by the head of the Lviv OVA Maksym Kozytskyi with the head of the board of the NGO “Space of Opportunities”, former Minister of Veterans Affairs, Temporarily Occupied Territories and IDPs Oksana Kolyada.
“I agree with Ms. Oksana’s opinion that a comprehensive approach to working with veterans should begin with the TCC. Currently, these structures do not perform such functions. At the same time, I believe that it is inappropriate to create bodies or structures that will duplicate certain functions and services for veterans.
I thank my adviser and the head of the Coordination Center at LOVA, Halyna Bordun, whose team started systematic meetings in communities with the families of servicemen in August last year with the participation of representatives of the Pension Fund, TCC and JV, the Office of Servicemen’s Families and other specialists,” said the head of Lviv Oblast.
It is noteworthy that in December, the level of appeals by relatives of servicemen to the offices of the Coordination Center in the districts increased by 50%, and the beginning of 2024 was no less busy. That is, the need for such coordination is only increasing.
The plan is to scale the project to other regions, and currently – the development of work algorithms for social support specialists of TCC in Lviv region, analysis of their functionality and interaction with other related services. In the future, training for specialists will be held.
The project will be presented at the “Psychosocial services” forum, which will be held in Lviv on February 9.
