The most difficult winter awaits the Lviv region

Today, November 17, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the first deputy head of the Lviv OVA, Andriy Godyk, regarding the passage of the 2022/23 heating season under martial law, in particular, limited energy supply.

The heads of united territorial communities, heads of district military administrations of the region, and representatives of relevant structures took part.

As Andrii Godyk noted, the enemy continues to attack critical infrastructure facilities, in particular the energy sector. Thus, after the recent rocket strikes, approximately 2 million residents of the region were left without electricity.

Given this and the approach of the heating season, the region should be prepared for possible critical situations in the absence of electricity and heat supply.

One of the ways to overcome crisis situations will be the deployment of heating points.

Andrii Godyk emphasized that the heating points should perform several functions at the same time. In particular, shelter, heating, access to the Internet, and, if necessary, receiving first aid. However, as of today, local self-government bodies have insufficiently staffed the heating points.

Also, the heads of communities and districts were instructed to urgently provide facilities with fuel and lubricants and generators that will ensure the work of the housing and communal sphere in conditions of limited energy supply and heating points.
