In the Drohobych Rayon, pupils of five more hromada educational institutions will be using new “Shkolaryky” to go to school in the coming days

At the end of last year, the fleet of the Education Department of the Drohobych City Council was replenished with four more Shkolaryk vehicles, which were needed to transport students.

After receiving the keys, it takes a long time to register the vehicles and obtain number plates. This work is now in its final stages, so in the coming days, after the routes have been approved, the buses will start running and students will be able to get to school quickly and comfortably.

The new “Shkolaryky” will transport pupils attending Rikhtytsia secondary school, Dobrivlyansky educational complex, school No. 6 in Stebnyk, school No. 8 and school No. 3 in Drohobych, where children with inclusion are educated.

This was reported by Roman Hrytsai, Head of the Education Department.

According to the official, the co-financing programme for the purchase of school buses in the Lviv Oblast continues to operate. Therefore, if co-financing is available, the Drohobych community will apply for the purchase of another bus to fully cover the need for schoolchildren’s transportation in the community.

As a reminder, the need for school buses arose with the outbreak of full-scale war, when the education department transferred the existing buses to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Subsequently, thanks to the regional co-financing programme, the need for vehicles began to be restored. Drohobych provided 50% co-financing.

All the buses purchased were made in Ukraine. Each “Shkolaryk” has 30 passenger seats. The vehicles are equipped with everything necessary for the transportation of schoolchildren, including for transporting children with inclusion.
