Meest Group, Victoria Gardens shopping mall, Ukrainian Bible Church and inVerita have joined the Take a House Under Your Care initiative launched by Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi after Russia’s attack on Lviv on 4 September.
The companies have allocated more than UAH 4.3 million to restore the buildings at 39, 41 Bratykh Mikhnovskikh Street and 7a, 7b Kvitky-Osnovyanenko Street. The relevant cooperation agreement was signed today at the Lviv City Council.
“The agreements we have signed today with Meest Group, Victoria Gardens shopping mall, Ukrainian Bible Church and inVerita. – are contracts for the reconstruction of houses in the Zaliznychnyi district, which was affected the most.
We are pleased that more and more organisations and business companies are joining the Take a House Under Your Care initiative. Such assistance is very important as the winter season is coming soon. And thanks to this financial support, residents of the affected buildings will be able to return to their homes as soon as possible. There are still objects that need financial support from donors, so we encourage businesses, enterprises and organisations to join the initiative and thank everyone who has already contributed,” said Andriy Pavliv, Head of the Investment and Projects Department at Lviv City Council.
Thus, according to the agreement signed today, Meest Group will allocate UAH 2,000,000 for emergency repair work in the building at 41 Bratykh Mikhnovskikh Street. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the company has also been delivering humanitarian aid to Lviv free of charge, including all charitable aid for Unbroken ecosystem projects.
“A large part of our social initiatives is to support Lviv. Therefore, when the enemy destroyed our homes with a rocket, we naturally decided to join the initiative to rebuild them. And we thank the city for the opportunity to contribute to the restoration of the destroyed buildings.
Before we allocated the aid and signed the contract, we visited all the facilities in need of restoration and looked at where we could direct our funds. We hope that the building we have taken under our care (41 Bratykh Mikhnovskikh Street) will be rebuilt as soon as possible,” said Marta Yankiv, Global CEO of Meest Group.
Also among today’s signatories is Victoria Gardens shopping centre, which allocates UAH 1 160 000 to restore the roofs of the buildings at 7a Kvitky-Osnovyanenko Street and 7b Kvitky-Osnovyanenko Street.
“When we heard the mayor’s appeal to Lviv businesses to help restore the buildings affected by the latest attack, we immediately decided to respond. I myself live on Bratykh Mikhnovskikh Street and experienced the shelling myself. So we had no question whether to help or not. We quickly decided on the budget, went to see everything and took care of two houses on Kvitka-Osnovyanenko Street. Work has already begun on one house. I hope that we will be in time for the winter,” said Yaroslav Tymochko, director of the Victoria Gardens shopping centre.
Also, the Ukrainian Bible Church will allocate UAH 1,000,000 to restore the destroyed building at 39 Bratykh Mikhnovskikh Street. And the IT company inVerita will allocate UAH 164,500 to replace windows in a building at 33 Bratykh Mikhnovskikh Street. The company will also help set up a playroom at St Nicholas Hospital.
