Major Renovation of the Skate Park on Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street in Lviv

The executive committee of the Lviv City Council has approved a decision for the major renovation of the skate park in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Lviv, which will be funded by a private investor. Iryna Dzhuryk, head of the Shevchenkivskyi District Administration, reported that the public space with the skate park was established back in 2015. The area between Hrinchenko St. and Lypynsky St. was equipped with a skate park, walkways, benches, and a playground.

This project has significantly improved the amenities of the area and engaged the youth in active recreation. However, due to prolonged use, the structures have worn out and are in unsatisfactory condition. Routine maintenance has been conducted to support the facility, but these did not solve the issues fundamentally.

The district administration has engaged LLC ‘Reserve Plus’ to invest in a major renovation costing up to 500 thousand hryvnias. Repair work is planned to begin with the onset of warm weather and to be completed as quickly as possible.

Approximately 20,000 people live in the microdistrict near the skate park, including residents of the Lychakivskyi district, who also actively use the space for active recreation. Besides the skate park, there is a recreation area with a park and benches for various categories of the population.
