The bad weather, which has been going on since yesterday evening, has caused fires and additional problems with the power supply in Lviv.
In different parts of the city, small branches and one tree have fallen and have been removed. Also, 6 minor roofs were flooded. There were no casualties as a result of the weather.
Small branches fell on Velykyi Street, Dniprovska Street, Richytska Street and Stryiska Street, but did not impede traffic. Also, a tree fell on Tyutyunnykiv Street, which was cut down by the utility company, so traffic is fully free.
Lvivoblenergo specialists worked to restore power supply to private sector residents on Kobyltsy Street, where a wire was shorted yesterday, as well as to restore power supply to residents of Rudno and Ryasne-Ruske village, which were partially cut off due to a lightning strike.
At the same time, a fire broke out yesterday in a small abandoned building on Truskavetska Street on the outskirts of the city as a result of lightning. According to the updated information, there was no fire in Rudno – it was a summer kitchen in the village of Palanky of the Ivano-Frankivsk community that caught fire.
During the bad weather, lightning struck the power grid in Lviv three times. Experts quickly repaired all the damage and the electric transport is operating as usual.
“I am grateful to all the services – Lvivoblenergo, the State Emergency Service, and utility companies – who promptly repaired all the damage,” said Andriy Moskalenko, First Deputy Mayor of Lviv.
Residents are reminded to call the city’s hotline at 15-80 if they see the consequences of the bad weather. All services continue to work in an emergency mode.
