CHPP in Novoyavorivsk is more than 90 percent ready for the start of the heating season

Preparation for the heating season in the region is proceeding according to plan. Thus, the thermal power plant in Novoyavorivsk is more than 90% ready for the start of heat.

Today, together with the head of the Lviv OVA Maksym Kozytskyi, the chairman of the board of NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” Yury Vitrenko and people’s deputies got acquainted with her work. They were on a working visit to Lviv Oblast.

As the head of the region recalled, in 2018-19, residents of Novoyavorivsk and Novy Rozdol were partially without heat even in December. Fortunately, then it was possible to avoid such a tragedy as in Alchevsk, in the Luhansk region, because there was no real winter cold. Preparation for the heating season in those years was handled by another manager.

At the end of 2019, the Novoyavorivsk and Novy Rozdol thermal power plants were transferred to the management of Naftogaz Teplo. This helped to normalize the work of enterprises and to start and complete the heating seasons on time.

This year, in these cities, as well as in the Lviv region in general, work on indoor networks has already been completed, hydraulic tests have been conducted, and heating networks have been checked. Preparation for the heating season is going according to plan.

“It is important for Lviv OVA that people receive quality services. Thank you to Naftogaz of Ukraine for what they have already done for the consumers of Lviv Oblast. I hope that in the near future a modern CHP plant will be built in Novoyavorivsk, which will work on alternative types of fuel, which will provide people with uninterrupted heat and electricity supply, and hot water will be available throughout the year, not only during the heating season,” said Maksym Kozytskyi.

Thus, it is planned to provide uninterrupted heat and electricity supply, hot water and reduce inefficient gas consumption by switching from natural gas to biomass, for example. This is a project of a new thermal power plant, which will work on waste wood and garbage, which can be processed and produce heat. In Novoyavorivsk, this is currently a project and it is planned to launch it in the near future.

Also, the project to switch CHP to biomass is starting in Lviv. The first results should be available in February.

In addition, in Novoyavorivsk, active work on thermal modernization of buildings continues.

Buildings that created condominiums can participate in various programs.

So, the first houses that were modernized already saved an average of 50-55% of the heat medium during the previous heating seasons, and this is all reflected in the residents’ bills. Savings are provided by the installation of an individual heat point, as well as insulation of heat supply pipes that go to residents’ apartments and the ability to regulate heat supply, wall insulation, additional entrance doors, etc.

“It is very important to switch from natural gas to biomass as soon as possible throughout the country, to insulate housing in order to consume less natural gas, so that the state directs these funds, which it now actually allocates to subsidies, to the Armed Forces,” – noted the chairman of the board of NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” Yuriy Vitrenko.
