Lviv dismantles emergency structures of buildings that suffered the most after rocket attacks

Dismantling of emergency structures in buildings on Konovaltsia Street, which suffered the most after rocket attacks

Lviv continues to repair the damage caused by a rocket attack on 4 September. Today, on 9 September, emergency repair work is underway at 44 Konovaltsia Street, 44a Kokorudzy Street, and 13 Kokorudzy Street. According to Oksana Pryhoda, head of the Frankivsk District Administration, emergency structures are being dismantled.

“As of today, the rubble from the missile strike has been cleared. On the inside of the courtyard, we are starting to dismantle the remains of the roof on buildings 44 and 44a. We are working in hard-to-reach places. They are voluminous, so we have to be careful to avoid the risk of collapse.

House 44a is covered, meaning that part of the roof is completely scaffolded and covered with a film to protect it from rain. The other part is just covered with a film.

There is no way to cover the 44th house – there is no roof left at all. In addition, there are five more roofs that are less damaged. We are preparing estimates for them and will carry out repair work,” says Oksana Pryhoda.

The work is being carried out by employees of Ecobudstil LLC. According to foreman Roman Onyshchak, they are currently collecting everything and plan to remove it tomorrow.

“We started clearing the rubble today. Tomorrow, a crane will arrive and we will ship and transport everything away. And then the process will go faster – we will start restoring the floors,” said Roman Onyshchak.

In addition, today the State Emergency Service allowed the residents to take their belongings from the apartments to which they have access.

On 4 September, around five o’clock in the morning, the enemy launched a combined attack on Lviv with rockets and shaheds. The attack killed 7 people, including children. Another 66 residents needed medical assistance, including 10 children. 188 buildings were destroyed, including residential buildings, 5 educational institutions, 2 art centres, 2 medical institutions, and the Church of St Yuriy the Victorious of the OCU on Chernivetska Street. Roofs, ceilings, walls, partitions, windows, etc. were damaged.
