In Lviv, the number of complaints from residents regarding improper parking has increased fourfold

After the announcement of the campaign “Donate photo violations of parking lots at the ZSU”, the number of calls to the city’s “Hotline” increased fourfold. If previously 20-30 such messages were received daily, in the first days of the campaign there were almost 300 of them.

As a result, parking inspectors issue an additional 40-50 fines per day. This was reported in the security department of the LMR.

The city council emphasizes that parking inspectors consider every appeal registered on the city’s “Hotline”. Information on mass violations of parking rules (5 or more cars) is processed as a priority, and parking inspectors are immediately sent to the scene together with the police crew, who work together on the route.

Appeals related to violations of the parking rules of a specific car are processed in the second place. Also, residents often report “violations”, which drivers correct in 5-12 minutes, without outside intervention. It is, in particular, about loading/unloading cargo, boarding/disembarking passengers.

The LMR security department notes that the information about improper parking from residents is sometimes incorrect. For example, appeals are received about violations of parking rules with photo fixations from a month ago. Therefore, residents are asked to be careful when informing about violations of parking, stopping, and parking rules and to send only those photos that relate to real time.

After all, funds from fines for improper parking in Lviv are directed to aid the Ukrainian military.
