In Lviv, they have started to restore the movement of trolleybuses. As informed by Orest Oleskiv, head of the LMR transport department, as of 5:00 p.m. in the city, trolleybus route No. 22 and partially – No. 23 were resumed. In particular, trolleybuses No. 23 run from St. Ryashivska to st. Trolleybus (trolleybus depot) and in the opposite direction.
Volodymyr Kovaliv, head of Lviv Electrotrans LLC, added that the contact network along route No. 25 has already been cleared of icing. Therefore, trolleybuses are already being run-in on this line. That is, now electric transport is running, but without passengers.
“We plan that trolleybuses #25 will leave the route tomorrow morning. We also want to resume the movement of trolleybuses #30 tomorrow,” said Orest Oleskiv.
As Lviv Elektrotrans added, the company’s emergency crews continue to clear the contact network from icing for the 5th day in order to fully restore trolley traffic.
“The relevant services are doing everything possible, sometimes impossible, so that the trolleybuses return to the line as soon as possible. Over the past 50 years, a situation in which 100% icing of the catenary network along its entire length would have occurred has never been observed,” Lviv Electrotrans LLP added.
We will remind you that on the night of last Sunday, due to bad weather, the entire contact network of electric transport in the city, with a length of 270 km, froze.
