In Lviv, a modular town on Puluya Street is being deconsolidated to accommodate people whose homes were destroyed in the morning Russian attacks. Also, more than 20 hotels in the city have volunteered to host the victims of the shelling.
“A decision has been made to decommission the modular town on Pulujia Street. We are preparing to settle people. Since no one has lived there for almost two years, we have to check all the communications, get the electricity supply running, and prepare the housing modules and kitchen. In total, the town can accommodate 320 people, but since it consists of residential modules with two bunk beds, we can accommodate families. Therefore, we are ready to accept 70 families,” said Volodymyr Holovaty, Director of the Social Support Centre of the Lviv City Council.
“We started deconservation of the town in the morning, prepared the first 20 modules and are gradually preparing the next ones. So we are ready to move people in.
In addition, the city’s tourism department has asked Lviv hotels to help with the resettlement of people who were left homeless as a result of the attack. As a result, more than 20 hotels in the city have agreed to host people for the time being.
“People can stay for a few days in Lviv hotels or hostels that have agreed to accommodate people who have been left homeless until they resolve their domestic issues of moving to relatives or renting an apartment. We are cooperating with district administrations to find people willing to stay in hotels. So far, people have found other accommodation options. However, we are very grateful to the hotels that responded to our call and agreed to accommodate people in need,” said Khrystyna Lebed, Head of the Tourism Department of Lviv City Council.
As a reminder, the city will compensate residents who lost their apartments as a result of the hostile attack for rent. The decision was made today by the Executive Committee of the Lviv City Council. The compensation will be in the amount of UAH 10,000, UAH 12,000 and UAH 15,000, depending on the type of apartment they had destroyed: 1-, 2- or 3-room apartments.
