Accessibility improvements at the bus stop at 39-41 Chornovola Ave. are being completed: public transport will stop here again from Tuesday
The overhaul of the public transport stop at 39-41 Chornovola Ave. has been completed with the installation of accessibility elements. In particular, for the first time in Lviv, Cassel curbs were installed here, which allow public transport to approach the bus stop platform as close as possible, and therefore provide comfortable boarding and disembarking for passengers.
During the repair works, which began in July this year, trolleybuses and buses were boarding and disembarking passengers faster – approximately 30 metres before the existing stop – at the corner of Kulish Street. Starting from Tuesday, 10 September, all public transport will again stop at 39-41 Chornovola Ave.
“The works at 39-41 Chornovola Ave. are actually completed. Therefore, on Monday, appropriate road signs will be installed to indicate that the public transport stop is returning to its usual location.
At this public transport stop, we have laid tactile tiles, paved the sidewalk, installed new pavilions, and installed Casselian curbs,” the Galician District Administration reported.
As a reminder, almost 75% of bus stops in Lviv are currently accessible or partially accessible to people with reduced mobility.
According to the district administrations, since the beginning of the year, public transport stops have been made accessible on Zelena Street near AS-5, 10 Chukarina Street, 45 and 67 Medova Pechera Street, 32 Vygovsky Street, and 32 Stryiska Street. Stryiska Street near the National Army Academy, 32 Vyhovskoho Street, 113 Shevchenka Street, Bryukhovychi Street (Ryasne-1), Shevchenka-Kovcha Street and Nezalezhnosti Ukrayiny Street in Bryukhovychi, Soborna Square, Heroi UPA Street (stop at Lypneva Square), etc.
