This is a bridge over the Dniester River, located on the Monastyrets-Polyana road on the territory of the Komarnivska community.
Last year, the contractor, TRANS-SERVICE PE, completed the main set of works on the construction of this bridge. The following works were performed at the site:
- installation of metal beams of the span structure;
- installation of a monolithic reinforced concrete slab;
- Concreting of bridge cones;
- installation of railing and barrier fencing.
At the end of 2023, the structure was reopened, but in a limited mode for use by local residents and emergency services. This year, it is planned to complete the repair work in full. After that, vehicle traffic will resume across the newly built bridge.
“The bridge over the Dniester River was destroyed during the floods of 2008. In the same year, the construction of a new crossing began, but the work was suspended due to lack of funds,” said Orest Shulikovsky, Director of the Road Department.
As of today, asphalt concrete pavement is being laid on the bridge crossing and its approaches. The length of the bridge is 50 metres.
“For many years, local residents continued to use the dilapidated emergency bridge. However, in July 2023, this temporary old wooden bridge connecting the villages of Monastyrets and Polyana completely collapsed. In order to ensure proper communication between the settlements, the construction of a new concrete bridge was resumed in 2023. Funding from the State Road Fund has been allocated for this purpose,” said Yuriy Buchko, deputy head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
