Supporting and assisting IDPs who lost their homes due to the hostilities and were forced to leave their hometowns and migrate to safe areas is one of the important vectors in the work of the local government of the Drohobych community.
Since the first days of the full-scale invasion, Drohobych has not only supported IDPs but has also been involved in a number of projects aimed at building housing for displaced people.
In August last year, the Drohobych City Council signed a Memorandum with representatives of the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund to build housing for displaced persons with grant funds from the German government.
The signing of the Memorandum laid the foundation for the start of the development of design and estimate documentation (DE) for the construction of housing for IDPs in Drohobych, and in March this year, the Agreement for services for the production of design and estimate documentation and supervision of the new construction of an apartment building for temporary residence of internally displaced persons at Pylyp Orlyk Street, Drohobych, Lviv region, was signed.
USIF will finance development of design and estimate documentation and construction works at the expense of grant funds of the German Government, provided through German Development Bank KfW, within the framework of the current project “Promotion of Social Infrastructure Development. USIF VI” and the future project “Promotion of Social Infrastructure Development. USIF IX”. Within the framework of USIF IX Project, a Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) is envisaged.
