Zamarstynivka Lake to be restored

The lake at 172 Zamarstynivska Street in Lviv will be restored. This was announced by Lubomyr Zubach, Deputy Mayor of Lviv for Urban Development.

The development of reservoirs and water areas is one of the city’s priorities. According to Liubomyr Zubach, the only question now is how the Zamarstynivka Lake will be restored.

“According to the urban planning documentation and in fact, there are four fish ponds there. It has never worked as a recreational lake, so we consulted with environmentalists, lawyers and architects. But our common opinion is to make the lake in a new format, specifically as a recreational lake, and for this we need to make changes to the detailed plan of the territory. This process has already begun. In March of this year, a detailed site plan was unveiled and is currently being developed. It will be ready by the end of September, and then it will be submitted to public hearings so that all residents can see it, discuss it and correct it. We are only in favour of doing it in the best possible way in the interests of the neighbourhood and the residents,” said Liubomyr Zubach.

It is worth noting that nowadays the residents have turned part of the lake area into a parking lot. However, when the lake is restored, it will only be a public space.
