The simulator was handed over within the framework of the joint project of Lviv OVA and Lviv IT-Cluster – “SKY”.
The Air Defense Forces military unit received a VR simulator. The device allows our defenders of the sky to train in conditions as close as possible to real ones, and to prepare more effectively for tasks.
“These simulators allow us to train personnel and maintain their level of knowledge in practice so that they can perform their defense tasks as efficiently as possible. Military personnel guarding facilities also undergo training before being on guard duty, because its main advantage is realism. The military can see an enemy target in virtual reality and destroy it,” said the representative of the “Zahid” PvC, the commander of the headquarters, Denys Levkovych.
This is already the second such device that was transferred within the framework of the “SKY” project for the air defense of the western region this year. Military personnel are already undergoing training at the base of one of the units. Training takes place every day.

The cost of the VR simulator is 1.5 million hryvnias. On it, the military can practice their skills in shooting down enemy Russian cruise missiles, planes, and drones. The simulator helps prepare servicemen to operate the Igla and Igla-1 MANPADS. It also trains muscle memory.
“Our servicemen take care of safe skies over the Lviv region, so we understand that they should be as well prepared as possible. During more than a year of full-scale war, PvC “Zahido” successfully eliminated many enemy targets, thanks to their knowledge and skills, which means hundreds, maybe even thousands of lives, critical and residential infrastructure objects were saved. This is already the second simulator, which transfers the IT cluster for our Anti-Aircraft Forces within the scope of the “SKY” project. We often emphasized the attention of Western partners to close the sky over Ukraine. And these simulators will make it possible to train fighters who cover the sky over the entire western region. This is a considerable contribution to our Victory!” – stressed the head of Lviv OVA Maksym Kozytskyi.
The “SKY” project will modernize the “Zahid” PvC, which protects the skies of eight regions of western Ukraine.
We will remind you that the Lviv Regional Military Administration together with the Lviv IT Cluster and the Air Command “West” of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine initiated a project on the technical modernization of the command and analytical centers of the Air Command “West” last year. The project was named “SKY”.
