Up to 300 temporarily displaced people turn to Arena Lviv for help every day. This is three times less than before

The flow of internally displaced persons to Lviv region is decreasing, said the head of the commission on education and science of Lviv regional council, co-coordinator of the Center for Acceptance and Further Coordination of Displaced Persons Ivanna Gerus on First Western TV channel.

“Earlier, more than a thousand people came to the Lviv Arena every day. These were people with different needs. We searched for housing and provided food assistance, and drove them to the settlement day and night. Currently, up to three hundred people apply to the Lviv Arena in a day, ”the deputy said, emphasizing that“ schoolboy ”buses purchased with the co-financing of the regional council are used to transport displaced persons.

Sleeping places have been set up for the temporary stay of newly arrived citizens on the territory of the Arena Lviv coordination center. Here everyone has the opportunity to relax to decide whether to stay in Lviv region, or go to another region and abroad.

According to Ivanna Gerus, volunteers are constantly forming groups of people willing to settle in the settlements of Lviv region. The staff of the coordination center is constantly in touch with local governments, taking people to settlements in the community in an organized manner.

“We are organized, work as a team and are ready to accept and help everyone who is fleeing the war and seeking salvation in the Lviv region,” said Ivanna Gerus.
