Staff Sergeant Ivan Kurtiatnyk, call sign “Santa”, received the honorary award. The man lived in the village of Hrabovets.
During the full-scale invasion, he joined the 24th Brigade. He died on 2 January 2023 in a battle with the invaders for the city of Soledar in Donetsk region.
For reference: The “Hero’s Cross” is an award that was established by the 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after King Danylo to honour the memory and heroism of all the fallen comrades since 2014 in the war with Russia.
