Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Mykola Galts and Serhiy Galtsov

Tomorrow, March 8, Lviv will say goodbye to two more Heroes. Mykola Galts and Serhiy Galtsov died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul (11 Teatralna St.), at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Route of the funeral procession: Garrison Church of St. App. Peter and Paul UGCC (Tetralna Street, 11) – sq. Cathedral – square Rynok (city farewell ceremony) – str. Ruska – st. Basement – str. He studied at the Communal Institution “Kharkiv Lyceum No. 144 of the Kharkiv City Council”. During 2001-2003, he mastered the profession of a carpenter.

After completing his studies, he completed his military service in the ranks of border guards in the Lviv region, where he was injured and commissioned. Subsequently, he received his education at the Kharkiv Motor Vehicle Vocational College.

In peacetime, he was a sales manager in the “Eldorado” and “Comfi” store chains. During a certain period, he worked in the Republic of Poland and the Czech Republic.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he participated in the organization of local territorial defense, however, due to active hostilities, Serhiy Galtsov’s family moved to Lviv, where he dreamed of settling after the victory.

Despite the injury, he volunteered to defend the Motherland in the ranks of the Donetsk border detachment of the Eastern Regional Department of the State Border Service of Ukraine and fought against the invaders in the eastern direction. He was an IPS operator of the 2nd category of the 3rd anti-tank department of the rapid response border commandant’s office No. 1. He died heroically while performing a combat mission.

Serhiy Galtsov is survived by his mother, sister, brother, wife, aunt, cousin with her husband, and cousin.

He studied at Secondary Secondary School of Grades I-III No. 50 of Lviv. Received higher education at Lviv Polytechnic National University. He graduated from the military department at the university.

After completing his studies, he started his own business – for 20 years he was engaged in the production and design of cabinet furniture. The works of Mykola Galts adorn the homes of many Lviv residents.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he stood up to protect the Motherland from the invaders. He defended the territorial integrity and independence of the state in the ranks of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Performed combat missions in the eastern direction.

Mykola Galts is survived by his mother, wife, son and daughter.
