The International Court of Justice has set a date for the first trial of the genocide case against Russia

The UN International Court of Justice has announced that it will hold a hearing on Ukraine’s lawsuit against Russia on March 7 and 8 for violating Russia’s Convention on the Prevention of the Crime of Genocide.

This was reported by the press service of the court.

“The International Court of Justice, the main judicial body of the United Nations, will hold public hearings on genocide charges under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (Ukraine v. Russia) on Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 March 2022 at the Peace Palace in The Hague” , – it is told in the message.

The hearing will focus on Ukraine’s request for interim measures.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the hearing will be held in a hybrid format. Representatives of the parties to the case will be involved in person or by video link.
