In Lviv, the presentation of the Ukrainian translation of the book of the Head of the UGCC His Beatitude Svyatoslav “Tell me the truth. Dialogues about the meaning of life”. The event will take place on May 31 at 11:00 a.m. in the assembly hall of the Lviv National University named after I. Franka (1 University Street).
This book was first published in Italy in 2018 in the form of a dialogue with Fr. Paolo Asolan, professor at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome.
“Tell me the truth. Dialogues about the meaning of life” is a dialogue of a representative of the scientific environment of Western culture and the Primate of the largest Eastern Catholic Church, built on three theological virtues: faith, hope and love. For Professor Asolan, it is important to understand how these three theological virtues appeared in the life and martyrdom of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, hence his main interest: what is its spiritual heritage, history, and most importantly, what it can offer to the Western secularized world. The golden thread running through the entire dialogue is the question of truth in the “post-truth” era.
The author of the foreword is Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See (Vatican), and the afterword is written by Andrea Gagliarducci, journalist and Vatican columnist.
The translation into Ukrainian was carried out by the Center of Italian Language and Culture of LNU named after I. Franko together with the Secretariat of the Head of the UGCC in Rome.
The book was published by the Folio publishing house.
