In the village of Isai in the Sambir Region, an architectural monument of national importance is being restored – the Church of Arch-strategist Michael

This year, the regional budget provided 3.6 million UAH for the restoration of the architectural monument, and another 1 million UAH was allocated for the restoration of the wall painting of this unique church.

In the village of Isai, in the Sambir region, there is a perfectly preserved wooden church of St. Archangel Michael. It is an architectural monument of national importance.

The architectural object is one of the oldest preserved wooden churches in the Carpathian region. It is located in the center of the village and is a pearl of sacred architecture, built by craftsmen in the traditional Boyki style.

As informed by the deputy head of the Lviv OVA, Yuriy Buchko, in 2018, the church acquired the status of an emergency facility, and at the same time, its rescue began. During 2018-2021, the roof and domes of the temple were restored.

He emphasized that the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of the Lviv Regional Government received permission to carry out restoration works on the monument from the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

Therefore, the procurement procedure for restoration work was carried out, and the winner of the bidding was determined. As of now, the contractor has started the restoration work. And the design and estimate documentation of the temple mural is undergoing examination.

In 2023, the regional budget allocated UAH 3.6 million for the restoration of the architectural monument, and another UAH 1 million was allocated for the restoration of the wall painting of this unique church.

We restore, support, protect!” – said Yuriy Buchko.
