Young chess players from different cities competed at the IV stage of the ‘Young Talents’ tournament
The IV stage of the children’s chess tournament ‘Young Talents’ has concluded. The chess hopes from Morshyn, Sambir, Pustomyty, Novoyavorivsk, Zhovkva, Pasiky-Zubrytski, Sudova Vyshnia, Stryi, Drohobych, Brody, Solonka, Lviv, Horodok gathered at the tables. A total of 112 participants under the age of 10 – unrated players and holders of 4, 3, and 2 ratings participated.
Team and Individual Achievements
Everyone was joyful, rooting for their own. In the team standings, students of coaches Volodymyr Meleshko (Horodok Sports School) – 3rd place in the under 10 category, and Mykola Matviyenko (Horodok Kindergarten ‘Barvinok’) – 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in the under 6 category were notable. Good chess training and team spirit!
In the individual standings, the top places were taken by:
- Arseniy Rusyn – 3rd place in the under 6 nomination (Kindergarten ‘Barvinok’, coach M. Matviyenko);
- Darina Mekich – 1st place (Horodok Sports School, V. Meleshko);
- Anhelina Zholynska – 2nd place (Kindergarten ‘Barvinok’, M. Matviyenko);
- Yana Soroka – 3rd place (Kindergarten ‘Barvinok’, M. Matviyenko);
- Veronika Zalisko – 2nd place under 8 years (M. Matviyenko).
