They won 5 gold, 9 silver and 9 bronze medals.
The ISKA World Kickboxing Championships took place in Vienna, Austria, from 23 to 27 October. The competition was attended by 1070 athletes from different countries. The strongest athletes were determined in different age categories: adults, juniors, senior and junior boys, and children.
The national team of Ukraine took first place out of 34 countries (76 gold, 81 silver and 81 bronze medals).
“The team included representatives from Lviv region. They won five gold, nine silver and nine bronze medals,” says Roman Khimyak, head of the Youth and Sports Department at the Lviv Regional State Administration.
AWARDS FOR ATHLETES FROM LVIV REGION:
Dmytro Andrusiv – 2nd place (K-1 light kick section) in the weight category up to 55 kg among adults;
Yulian Voznyak – 2nd place (tayboxing) in the weight category up to 50 kg among adults;
Julian Bortovyi – 3rd place (light contact) and 3rd place (K-1 light kick) in the weight category under 40 kg among children;
Markiyan Gilevich – 3rd place (light contact) and 3rd place (K-1 light kick) in the weight category up to 60 kg among juniors;
Veronika Kulesha – 3rd place (light contact section) in the weight category under 40 kg among children;
Ostap Pavlyak – 1st place (K-1 section) and 3rd place (K-1 light kick section) in the weight category up to 70 kg among adults;
Yaroslav Popiuk – 2nd place (kickboxing with low kick) in the weight category up to 65 kg among adults;
Vitaliy Stakhiv – 1st place (semi-contact) and 2nd place (light contact) in the weight category up to 55 kg among juniors;
Artem Tereshchenko – 2nd place (full contact) in the weight category up to 75 kg among juniors;
Ostap Tershak – 1st place and 2nd place among juniors in the form to music section;
Daryna Moskovych – 2nd place (semi-contact section) and 3rd place (light contact section) in the weight category up to 55 kg among juniors;
Bohdan Hordii – 1st place (light contact), 2nd place (semi-contact) and 3rd place (K-1 light kick) in the weight category over 90 kg among adults;
Andrii Voloshchak – 1st place (semi-contact), 2nd place (light contact) and 3rd place (K-1 light kick) in the weight category up to 80 kg among adults.
