Specialists of St. Luky of the First Medical Association of Lviv, with the support of philanthropists, performed an operation, after which a patient from Donetsk was able to see the world and her three children. Natalia lost her sight during pregnancy and for many years dreamed of seeing her daughters. Prior to the doctors’ intervention, cataracts threatened the woman with lifelong blindness.
She cried for an hour when the doctors removed Natalie’s blindfold. The woman closed her eyes from the bright light and could not believe that she saw her loved ones. The children and her husband cried with her.
“Natalia began to lose her sight as a child. She was diagnosed with “congenital cataract of both eyes” in her native Donetsk. After giving birth to her first daughter, the woman still saw shadows and distinguished bright colors. But during the second pregnancy – three years ago – she went completely blind.
The family did not have the money to replace the lenses that would give her sight. Natalia was forced to recognize her daughter by touch and smell. On the last peaceful night – February 23 – the woman gave birth to another child, which she also risked never seeing.
However, Natalia, who was evacuated with her children, got to the right place – to our hospital. The ophthalmology department not only examined her, but offered her a free operation. Expensive implants for women were bought by philanthropists, ”the hospital said.
Natalia, whose dream has come true, is undergoing rehabilitation today. After full recovery, he plans to go to study – he wants to become a social worker and help others.
“The woman and our whole team would like to thank all those who joined in the Miracle! Believe me, dreams come true! Especially when we have one dream for everyone, ”the First Medical Association of Lviv emphasizes.
