Orphans and children deprived of parental care must be brought up in families. This is one of the main priorities in the Lviv region.
Two children deprived of parental care, who are sisters aged 12 and 16, were placed in a family-type orphanage operating on the territory of the Pustomitivska territorial community.
Before placement in DBST, the children were in various institutions of the region, and their younger brother was brought up in the orphanage of the Samartsev family. Placement of children made it possible to unite the family group and bring them up in one family.
“The state ensures the priority of family education and creates conditions for their development, providing material and social support to families that take in orphans and children deprived of parental care,” said Volodymyr Lys, head of the children’s service of the Lviv OVA.
In total, there are 44 family-type orphanages in the region, in which 300 orphans and children deprived of parental care are raised, as well as 74 foster families, in which 135 orphans and children deprived of parental care are raised.
