A day care center for displaced children has been opened in Lviv

The non-governmental organization YMCA Lviv has opened a day care center for displaced children, where parents can leave their children aged 4 to 11 for free for a few hours.

“We are faced with a situation where many migrants need to solve their problems, but leave the child with no one. Sometimes moms need a few hours for themselves to be at peace. We tried to understand how we can help: we found volunteers, a place, developed activities and for the third week we have been working with children every day. We draw, play the piano, have fun with animators – children can do what they want, and parents are not attached to a certain time. We accept the baby at the time when it is convenient for the parents, ”says project coordinator Maria Kisil.

Children can be left at the Center for free for up to three hours a day. Pre-registration required by phone +38 068 029 18 80.

Due to limited resources, the organization does not provide food and daytime sleep, nor does it work with children with disabilities.
