Border guards detect luxury car being transported to Ukraine under the guise of humanitarian aid
At the Shehyni checkpoint, servicemen of the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment together with customs officers found a 2015 Audi Q7 being transported to Ukraine under the guise of humanitarian aid.
The car was coming from the Czech Republic. The recipient, according to the shipping documents, was one of the Ukrainian charitable foundations.
The fraud was detected immediately at the border. A request was sent to the charity and the competent authorities were notified. As employees of the BES Territorial Office in Lviv region later found out, the car was to be sold through an online platform for the sale of used cars.
The full range of people involved in the scheme is being established. The vehicle was seized. The pre-trial investigation under Part 2 Article 222 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is ongoing.
