In May, the Lviv Academic Theater “Resurrection” invites you to four performances. The plots of the plays are very different and focus attention on the themes of jealousy, happiness, humanity… Spectators are invited to choose what is most interesting and come to the theater.
“The Image of Things” by Neil LaBute
Adam is a young student at Midwestern University. In order to somehow improve his material situation, he gets a job as a security guard at a local art museum. Here he meets student Evelyn, who is simply obsessed with art, freedom and sex. Young people spend a lot of time together, and the girl radically changes Adam’s life. The guy is convinced that the girl relieves him of many complexes, which makes him a completely different person, able to enjoy his life. However, his best friends are hostile towards her and believe that she is ruining his life.
In the play, the author touches on many controversial topics and questions about life, art, things, people, images, and objects.
Performances of the play will take place on May 6 and 7 at 6:00 p.m.
· “August: Osage County” by Tracy Letts
The story of a large family in which there is no more room for love.
Clash of generations: parents and children, impossible dreams, skeletons in the closets of a big house and bright characters of the main characters. This is the whole formula of happiness. It is the game of “love” that will lead the characters of the play to jealousy and envy, and later to family collapse. Family universities – what are they? Duty or love?
This play will be shown on May 14 and 15 at 5:00 p.m.
· “Dinner with a Fool” by Francis Weber
An incredibly funny and at the same time lyrical plot about what actions a man is capable of for the sake of true love. Unless, of course, he is not a “Fool”…
The French comedy “Dinner with a Fool” will make you laugh and think at the same time. The subtle humor that permeates the entire performance will not leave anyone indifferent, because this comedy has a deep meaning and a very interesting storyline.
This is a play about humanity. Who will like it: cynical smart people or fools with a good heart. A good mood is guaranteed.

· Ladies’ Night by McCarten, Sinclair and Collar
If your soul desires an unforgettable and impressive action, positive emotions, light humor and drive, then the performance “Night for Women” is just for you. This play is known to the world audience for numerous productions, which consistently break all records in terms of popularity. By the way, in 2001, she was awarded the highest theater prize of France “Moliere”.
Six unemployed friends despaired of finding a job, because the only employer in the city – a metallurgical plant – closed. An ad in the newspaper informs that each lady must pay $200 to enter a bar showing male striptease. A crazy idea comes instantly… Before the eyes of the surprised audience, the workers from the machine turn into the Apollons of the striptease.
The comedy will be on the “Resurrection” stage on May 21 at 6:00 p.m.
