On the stage of the Lviv Opera House, a jubilee concert was held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the People’s Children’s and Youth Choreographic Ensemble of the Folk Dance “Polunychka”. The young performers dedicated this concert to the soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“We dedicated our concert to our soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Their strength and devotion to the nation allow us to work with our children and raise a new generation of Ukrainians, patriots of our country. All 432 of our children performed on the stage of the opera house. These are children of different ages: from 1st to 11th grade, who showed the audience 38 dance numbers, and in total there are 72 of them in the “Polunychka” repertoire,” said Nataliya Dobynda, head of the national children’s and youth choreographic ensemble of the “Polunychka” folk dance.
However, the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the collective is not over. In a week there will be another concert – “Parents and Children”. It will take place on May 12 at 6:00 p.m. in the “Rocks” railway workers’ palace on the street. Fedkovych.
“On May 12, we will have another concert – “Parents and Children”. This is a tradition of our team, which we implement every 5 years. The parents of our children have real rehearsals, prepare dance numbers, and then young dancers and their moms and dads demonstrate their skills on the same stage,” Nataliya Dobynda added.

The folk dance ensemble “Strawberry” is a team working on the basis of three schools in Lviv: primary school No. 53 (grades 1-4) and seniors from the “Prestige” gymnasium, school No. 78 and school No. 22. Students from 1st to 11th grades , working hard, constantly participate in concerts, competitions and festivals in Ukraine and abroad, where they very often win the highest awards.
Every foreign trip of “Strawberry” pupils is not only participation in competitions or festivals. It is always a well-thought-out program of excursions, an opportunity for team members to visit various historical and picturesque places, various museums and exhibitions, to gain new knowledge and impressions.
